Founded in 1979 as a not-for-profit organization, the WAEA is the official worldwide network, representing nearly 100 airlines and over 250 airline suppliers and related companies, committed to excellence in inflight entertainment (IFE), communications and services, and the continual improvement of the airline passenger environment.

WAEA MISSION
To serve as a worldwide network of inflight entertainment/communications professionals, and promote the continual improvement of the inflight passenger environment through: identification and resolution of current inflight entertainment/communications issues; evaluation and promotion of technical and programming innovations; initiation, development and promotion of industrywide standards for quality; and, sponsorship of studies and programs to monitor industry trends and passenger preferences in inflight entertainment/communications.
